SeventyBreak
Protect your eyes with zero effort, every 20 minutes.
SeventyBreak reminds you to take a real eye break with the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, a discreet reminder invites you to look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It runs quietly in the background, skips itself if you're already away from the keyboard, and needs no system permission at all. Free 7-day trial.

Frequently asked questions
Why the 20-20-20 rule?
It's the rule recommended against digital eye strain: every 20 minutes, looking at something about 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds relaxes the eye's focusing muscles, which stay tense while staring at a screen. SeventyBreak applies this rule for you, with nothing to think about.
Does it interrupt a video call?
The reminder is a discreet panel that never steals keyboard or mouse focus: your call, screen share or typing continue uninterrupted. You can also dismiss it in one click, or with the Escape key, if it lands at a bad moment.
What if I have several screens?
The reminder appears on every connected screen at the same time, so you can't miss it while working on a secondary monitor.
Can I skip a break if I'm mid-thought?
Yes, a discreet Skip button and the Escape key close the reminder instantly. And if you're already away from the keyboard for more than 5 minutes when a break is due, SeventyBreak skips it on its own and waits for you to come back.
What's the difference between the website version and the App Store one?
It's the same app. On this website: a free 7-day trial, then a 6.90 CHF one-time license with automatic updates. On the App Store: direct purchase, updates through Apple. Pick whichever suits you.
